The Great British Sewing Bee 2021 Christmas Specials

Two Christmas specials of The Great British Sewing Bee (TGBSB) reality TV show were broadcast on the BBC on 22 December 2021 and 30 December 2021. They are available to stream in the UK from the BBC iPlayer service.

Contestants and judges

The judges were Savile Row's Patrick Grant and fashion designer Esme Young. The host was comedian Sara Pascoe.

The Christmas edition featured as contestants four celebrities:- journalist and media presenter Rev Kate Bottley, actor Antony Cotton, actor Kiell Smith-Bynoe and TV presenter Anneka Rice.

The New Year edition featured Drag Race winner Lawrence Chaney, New Zealand comedian Rose Matafeo, singer from Steps Claire Richards, and journalist Kirsty Wark.

Location

The two episodes were filmed at early 19th century cloth mill complex Sunny Bank Mills in the town of Pudsey located between Bradford and Leeds approximately 200 miles from London. Street address is 88 Town St, Farsley, Pudsey LS28 5UJ.

The filming took place in the 1912 Building / 1912 Mill.

Challenges

In Episode 1 the celebrities were challenged to make a Christmas sweatshirt, transform second-hand clothes into a fancy dress outfit, and tailor a vintage style dress for a live model.

In Episode 2 the challenges were to make a festive waistcoat from a pattern, transform old clothes into a children's party outfit and to tailor a party outfit inspired by festive-food for a live model.
